Request Research Access to the Database

The complete version of the database contains highly sensitive information and is intended as a tool for scholarly research. To protect the dignity of the victims of unethical biomedical research under National Socialism, full access is restricted to individuals with a verifiable legitimate interest, such as researchers or journalists.
We invite you to submit a request for full access using the contact form below. Please note that it may currently take up to eight weeks to process your application. We are sorry that we are currently unable to consider requests for shorter processing times, even in cases of particular hardship.

If you believe that a family member was affected by unethical biomedical research under National Socialism, whether you identified them in the database or have other reasons to assume so, you can request all available information about them contained in the database. Please be aware that some of the information may be distressing. If you are affected by any of the content, we encourage you to seek appropriate support.

Contact Regarding the Brain Research Project

If a relative of yours is listed in the part of the database dedicated to the Brain Research Project, you can contact opferforschungsprojekt@gv.mpg.de to share additional information, learn more about the planned ceremonial burial of their remains, or express specific wishes regarding the burial. A representative of the Max Planck Society will respond to your inquiry on an individual basis.
Note: Access to the database and the data stored within it is provided exclusively by the Leopoldina.
